Jersey City Chess
Jersey City Chess represents a culture of Inclusivity and Diversity.
Chess is a Sport of professional character, patience, and thought-out maneuvers. Although true, most of us don’t start playing this way. For me it was around family, when my uncle pulled out this mini magnetic chess set. From that point on chess was a part of my life!
Others start in the parks, or even at a school club, finding like-minded friends to challenge. Wherever you started you knew there was a world out there full of endless opportunities and checkmates.
Success in chess and in life starts with a mastery of the basics.
While executing complex maneuvers can be a challenge, I believe that true understanding comes through hands-on experience.
With six years of coaching expertise across 40+ public, private, and charter schools, I have dedicated my career to making chess accessible to everyone. My experience spans diverse environments, from correctional facilities to specialized programs for children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities.
I believe no one is "unable" to learn; it is simply my responsibility to find the right way to teach. Beyond the board, my curriculum emphasizes essential life skills, such as, manners and consent.
